Purple striped jelly is a species of jellyfish that exists primarily on the California coast in Monterey Bay. The purple striped gelatin bell has an average diameter of 2.3 feet. Very little is known about this creature, but it has been discovered that the young Cancer crabs will find refuge in the jellyfish and will eat parasitic amphipods that damage their host. They also have a toxic puncture that can paralyze the prey, but it will be extremely painful for a human being.
